Get ready for Project FeederWatch!

It’s not too early to start getting ready to participate in Project FeederWatch! Now is the time to select your count site and make it attractive to birds. Consider that you will be watching this area throughout the winter so make sure it will be easy to observe in all sorts of weather. I chose an area right outside my kitchen window. Since I live in a rural area with an extensive 'yard' I had to define the boundaries to an area that I can see easily from a single vantage point. I took this photo from my 'watch window' in the kitchen - the car in the driveway marks the farthest extent away from the house. The entire area is only about 50 x 30 ft.
