Jayhawk Audubon Society is hosting a celebration in honor of World Migratory Bird Day. This event is for all ages, with special event for kids.

Here are some activities that visitors will find at our WMBD event at Mutt Run Off-Leash Dog Park:

Play the Migration Game to explore the hazards and helpers migratory birds encounter on their long-distance journeys.

Learn how to create a bird-friendly yard that helps birds survive and thrive!

Examine different migratory shorebird beaks and diets, and play the 'guess the bird skull' game.

Spread the message of this year’s theme “Dim the Lights for Birds at Night” with posters, stickers and other take-aways.

Enter our raffle to win a bag of bird-friendly coffee.

Explore the relationship between the birds and the bees and native plants.

Hone your bird identification skills with wildlife biologists and expert birders.

Enjoy reading about birds? Lawrence Public Library staff will be on hand to recommend the best in both fiction and non-fiction books
